Community
Community Involvement
For Cunningham Restaurant Group, community involvement is at the very core of everything we do. Our vision statement outlines clearly that “In the Communities we serve, we will be the restaurant of choice for delighting our guests.” The dining experience is key to that vision, but participating actively in the communities we serve is a critical way we see that vision come to life.
We are passionate about the communities we serve and work to give back and support philanthropically in many ways. We focus on a few key areas we feel are important to our communities: Animal Welfare Arts, Culture, & Humanities, Community Development, Education, Environment, Health & Human Services, and Veterans & Service Personnel.
CRG & Second Helpings Partnership
Cunningham Restaurant Group and Second Helpings partner to feed Indy. Community is at the heart of what we do. We were able to help by providing a satellite kitchen to the Second Helpings team and increasing their distribution.
Our Key Initiatives
There are a few key initiatives that Cunningham Restaurant Group currently hosts, supports, and manages throughout the year that are in addition to the various corporate philanthropic efforts in the community.
Mary Lee Maier Community Pantry The Mary Lee Maier Community Pantry serves Avon Schools children and families in Avon, IN. The pantry was started in 2015 by several Avon teachers who saw food insecurity growing in Avon and were determined to do something to assist. From its small beginnings in a teacher’s desk drawer to serving over 50 families per week, MLMCP is a 501(c)3 organization operating completely on donations. Both Mike and Mindy Cunningham and Performance Services are charter donors and provided the capital needed to build the pantry facility in Avon Intermediate School West and outfit it with refrigeration, freezers, and shelving for families to shop weekly. The naming rights for the pantry went to the Cunninghams and Mary Lee Maier is Mindy’s mother who was a dedicated teacher and community activist for decades. Learn More Video | |

Veteran’s Day and Service Personnel Recognition
Another audience that Cunningham Restaurant Group feels passionate about supporting is our veterans and service personnel. Because of that, each year on Veteran’s Day and select days throughout the year we invite these audiences to dine at any of our restaurants for a meal on us as a token of our appreciation for all they do.
Thanksgiving Dinner for Families in Need
Ever since the first restaurant opened, Cunningham Restaurant Group has always been passionate about the communities in which we reside. From inception, we have always provided a Thanksgiving Meal to those families in need and continue to celebrate this tradition each and every year. Our teams and leaders within the company prepare and serve hundreds of families on a day when they might need it most.
